Kemunto vividly recalled her last moments with her Form One child before her untimely death. “When she returned home from the chief’s office, she asked me if I knew her M-Pesa PIN, which I did not know. She said that I would know that day. She brought her phone, put it on the table and shot out of the house,” the grieving mum said.

Kemunto said before her teenage daughter died, she penned a letter addressing the family and the chief. The letter resulted from the punishment by Osano, which pained and disturbed her.

“In the note she expressed her pain towards the chief, saying he had embarrassed her in front of her father. She said she loved school, but the chief chased her away. She told the chief to take care of her nine-month-old baby and attend her funeral,” Kemunto from Kisii county shared.

Bonareri’s uncle Enock Nyariki Otuke noted the family’s primary challenge was finances even as they prepared for the burial of their kin.

He pointed out that caring for the baby left behind in the care of her grandmother was also a challenge, as the baby’s needs were overwhelming.

Otuke, a boda boda operator, appealed for help to the family, adding that they were not seeking revenge for the deceased. In a different story, Eileen Cherotich was reportedly returning from a night out when she engaged in an argument with a man said to be her lover.

Three suspects and a vehicle believed to be involved in Cherotich’s death were detained at the Nakuru West Police Station. An autopsy was performed on the deceased to determine the exact cause of her untimely death on that fateful day, and the findings indicated she had fallen from a car in motion…CONTINUE READING>>
