Kanyari accused the politician of failing to pay him KSh 10 million he had lent him in the past. Sonko responded by refuting claims that he had ever borrowed cash from the pastor, asking him to remain truthful.
He also promised to give him money after trying to invite Kanyari to his house. The controversial preacher asked his fans not to gift Sonko, and at the end of the livestream, the politician gave Kanyari KSh 50,000.
In May, Kanyari’s mother appeared in public for the first time since losing her only daughter, Starlet Wahu, in January. Wahu was allegedly killed by John Matara, a man she met on a dating app.
The controversial pastor went live on TikTok with his mother as he begged TikTokers to send gifts, and most, including Mumias East MP Peter Salasya, did so.
