In an interview with Interia Sport, Lewandowski recounted when he met Messi at the Laureus Awards.
The Polish forward noted that Messi’s reaction was expected since he had lived in Barcelona most of his life.
“Keep it a secret, but when I told him about Barcelona, his eyes lit up.
“And it’s not surprising, after all, he grew up here; he has a house here that he visits often. Barcelona is his home,” Lewandowski said.
Messi has been linked with a return to Barcelona this summer, as he prepares to become a free agent when his current contract at Paris Saint-Germain expires.
