Greenwood has been added to United’s roster of Under-21 players qualified to compete in the league this year after being held in late January on suspicion of alleged rape, assault, and the threat of murder.
Erik ten Hag’s side will not be able to register his name on the Under-21 side due to his age. The suspended forward is automatically added to the roster because he is still a player of the club. However, the young attacker was not a member of United’s squad for the Europa League.
The English player is currently free on bail and being investigated by the Greater Manchester Police. Surprisingly, his player profile is still available on the club’s official website, but the fans are unable to get shirts.
Despite Greenwood’s name being listed, nothing has altered with regard to his case. In 129 games since making his senior United debut in March 2019, Greenwood has scored 35 goals and was in good form until his alleged inclusion in a crime.
The club has denied speculations about the impending return of Greenwood to the senior squad.
