Manchester United star Antony has revealed how Casemiro has helped him settle into life at Old Trafford since his arrival this summer.

The Brazilian pair were both announced as United players within the final two weeks of the transfer window, as Erik ten Hag managed to get two crucial bits of transfer business over the line.

Antony was officially unveiled on September 1, with the club spending up to £85.5million on the former Ajax winger.

The duo have been introduced to their time as United players in very different ways, with Ten Hag adopting a more cautious approach with Casemiro’s transition into the starting XI.

The 30-year-old is yet to start a Premier League match, with the resurgence of Scott McTominay no doubt playing a key role in allowing the United manager to give the new midfielder more time to adapt to the English game.

Antony, on the other hand, hit the ground running after just 35 minutes in a United shirt, scoring on his debut against Arsenal.

Every player takes a different amount of time to adapt to a new team, particularly when the move involves moving your whole life to a new country.

The 22-year-old has now told United’s in-house media how his fellow new signing and compatriot Casemiro has helped accelerate his settling in process at the club as he gets use to life in Manchester.

Antony said: “I’m enjoying it, it’s the first few weeks but I’ve already discovered a few Brazilian restaurants. I went with Casemiro. We’re settling in the city.

I’m already adapting well here at the club. The people have made me feel really welcome and I’m feeling at home. We’re settling in well in Manchester.

“I’m really happy to be with friends and working together here and with the Selecao [Brazilian football team]. It’s a great feeling.

It actually makes the settling in easier, not just with the teammates but all the other players have given me a warm welcome and this has really helped me to adapt.”
