Manchester United are currently in a rebuilding phase under the leadership of Erik Ten Hag, and even though the club have won the Carabao Cup, it is clear that they need to bring in new signings in some crucial positions on the pitch.
The club needs to sign a central midfielder; they have identified Frenkie De Jong as the player who suits the way Erik Ten Hag wants his team to play, and the club should focus on signing a player with the profile of Frenkie De Jong in case they are not able to secure his signature in the summer transfer window.
It is also clear that the club needs to sign a striker. Marcus Rashford has had to play in that role in most games this season as Erik Ten Hag has decided to play Wout Weghorst as a central attacking midfielder in most games.
Manchester United needed a striker who would disturb the Liverpool defense, but unfortunately they didn’t have any in their team against Liverpool.
Manchester United have identified names such as Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen as their target strikers, but it’s not yet clear which of them they are going to sign in the summer. There is no doubt that both players fit the profile of strikers that Erik Ten Hag wants.
Manchester United will be hoping to give a reply to Liverpool’s defeat when they face Real Betis on Thursday in the Europa League.
