After failing to sign Frankie De Jong, United spent big money on Casemiro. Many would have expected Casemiro to easily slot into Manchester United’s starting lineup, but that has not been the case.

At least a month after joining, the Brazilian has yet to make a league start and has only started one game, against Real Sociedad in the Europa League, which United lost. Casemiro has been relegated to the bench due to the resurgence of Scott McTominay.

Paul Pogba had everything in his power to offer this to United, but he fell short. Few will argue that Eriksen is giving United what they wanted from Pogba.

Didier Deschamps, who has coached Pogba at the international level, has also praised Eriksen. “But the ability that he (Eriksen) shows with his club in the position he plays, because he has always been someone who has a remarkable technical ability,” said Deschamps.
