United was giving up goals in practically all of its matches, and despite the high caliber of players that they had on their roster, the team struggled to keep clean sheets.

They have strengthened their defensive unit by signing players such as Harry Maguire, Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof, and Raphael Varane; yet, the majority of these defenders have been having difficulty holding the line. However, since Erik Ten Hag has joined the team, there has been a discernible improvement in the defensive performance.
The Dutch manager recruited Lisandro Martinez from Ajax to play for his team, and so far, he appears to be doing a good job for his squad.
The Argentine defender didn’t get off to a strong start in the Premier League, but in the Red Devils’ most recent encounter, which was against Liverpool, he made a fantastic comeback performance.
He was the captain of the defense and shown a high level of understanding while playing alongside the French defender Raphael Varane, which contributed to the team’s victory in the game.
Martinez is an excellent defender who has demonstrated that he has the potential to become the answer to Manchester United’s defensive problems throughout this season.
