According to reports, John Gentu claimed that his new partner was unwilling to enter a relationship where a child from a previous marriage was involved.

Athi area chief Gerund Kalunge, who responded to the scene, said the body of the infant was discovered discarded near River Githii. It was determined that the child had been suffocated to death using a rope—a horrific act he vehemently condemned, according to K24 TV.

“Why kill an innocent child just because you have domestic issues with your girlfriend or wife? This is so inhuman that I am calling on the law to take its course and ensure justice prevails,” Kalunge stated.

Gentu has since been arrested and detained at Maua police cells as investigations continue. Meanwhile, a father and one of his twin daughters tragically died when their pram rolled onto train tracks.
