In response to the viral letter, Malala denied resigning from his position as alleged in the letter circulating on social media platforms.
The SG termed the allegations as propaganda, further, flagging the letter as fake. He, therefore called on Kenyans to ignore the contents of the letter.
On the other hand, he noted that he was firmly rooted within the ruling party adding that he was keen on supporting President William Ruto to actualise his agenda.
“Ignore propaganda. The party is stable and focused on helping President William Ruto achieve his agenda for Kenya. Chama iko Imara,” he stated.
Malala has been receiving criticism within the party, with a section of the founding members announcing that they had replaced the SG.
The group, which accused Malala of sabotaging the party and the President, declared that Joe Khalende was the new SG.
In particular, Malala was accused of going against Ruto’s plan of forming a broad-based government, including bringing on board some opposition members.
Notably, the splinter group claimed that they had the blessing of senior officials of the party and even addressed the media at the party headquarters.
“I am here to confirm that he is no longer the SG for the UDA party. I Joe Khalende will be taking over from him.
“He has been supporting the Tawe movement. He is supporting agendas that contradict the ruling party. He has gone against the party leader. Going forward, anybody who transacts business with Malala will be doing it on their own,” the self-proclaimed SG stated.
