The duo scored a combined 263 goals during the five-seasons they spent as teammates for the Reds.
They also helped Liverpool win six trophies, including the Champions League in 2019 and the Premier League the following season.
They didn’t always get along. They had an infamous bust-up in their match against Burnley in 2019, when Mane was visibly frustrated Salah didn’t pass him the ball.
But, despite having their differences now and then, it was clear they they had a deep respect and admiration for each other.
And that was made even more apparent in an emotional Instagram exchange following Mane’s departure to Bayern Munich on Wednesday.
After Mane’s exit was confirmed, Salah took to social media to send an emotional tribute to his good friend.
The Egyptian posted numerous pictures of the two celebrating together alongside the caption: “It’s been quite a ride! Thank you for all the good times and I wish you all the best in your new adventure! You will be missed by all of us.”

Mane saw Salah’s tribute and sent a heartfelt response.
He wrote: “Keep doing your things! Brother you are the best.”

England’s top tier will not be the same without them terrorising oppositions defences together.
Jurgen Klopp also had words of praise for Mane. The Senegalese international was one of Klopp’s first signings for Liverpool and he paid an emotional tribute to the 30-year-old.
“It’s a big moment. There is no point in anyone trying to pretend otherwise. One of Liverpool’s greatest ever players is leaving and we must acknowledge how significant this is,” He told Liverpool’s official website.
“He leaves with our gratitude and our love. He leaves with his status among the greats guaranteed. And, yes, he leaves in a moment where he is one of the best players in world football.
“But we must not dwell on what we now lose, instead celebrate what we were privileged to have. The goals he scored, the trophies he won; a legend, for sure, but also a modern-day Liverpool icon.
“Since he first stepped through the door, he made us better. If someone had told us in that moment what he would go on to contribute and achieve for this club, I’m not sure it would have been possible to comprehend in that moment. Not the scale of it at least. Sadio made it all possible.”
