How were KDF officers arrested?

After reaching Cornerstone, he alongside Duty NCO CPL Lewer and Crime Aide PC(W) Rufo, apprehended two additional suspects, handcuffed them, and placed them inside the police vehicle.

As the team proceeded towards the station, an unknown person ran towards the vehicle, jumped inside, and reportedly violently attacked PC(W) Rufo by strangling her, according to a police report witnessed by TUKO.co.ke.

During the struggle, the two previously handcuffed suspects also joined in. The intruder reached for PC(W) Rufo’s firearm, leading to a discharge.

The team drove directly to the station, where it was discovered that the individual who had attacked PC(W) Rufo had sustained a gunshot wound to the right thigh, while PC(W) Rufo had bruises on her neck, a torn sweater, and a torn blouse.

The injured suspect was taken to Mama Lucy Hospital for treatment.

Who were the arrested KDF officers?

Meanwhile, the two suspects continued to be violent at the station and refused to identify themselves.

They were eventually subdued, and upon searching them, it was revealed that they were Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officers namely Amos Kipchuba Cheruiyot, Service Number 114088, Kenya Air Force, and 2) Stephen Muuo Sila, Service Number 114137, Kenya Army.

They also presented the military ID of Evans Kipngetich, Service Number 114169, belonging to the suspect who sustained the gunshot injury. All arrested individuals have been placed in custody.

2 officers linked to Jumaisi’s escape released

In other news, two police officers linked to the escape of the Mukuru killings’ prime suspect Collins Jumaisi were released on bond.

Jumaisi escaped from the highly guarded Gigiri Police Station alongside 12 Eritreans who were nabbed for being in the country illegally.
