On Tuesday, the two ate together amid changes in President William Ruto’s administration.

In a post on his X page, Kuria said Kiunjuri had taken him for lunch moments after news broke that he had not been renominated for a Cabinet slot.

Kuria said he had taken Kiunjuri out for lunch in 2020 when the MP lost his CS position, and thanked him for returning the favour.

“On January 14, 2020 my friend Festus Mwangi Kiunjuri was fired from Cabinet. On that day I took him out for lunch. Today my brother has returned that favour. It was a good lunch. Asante Mwangi,” he said.

Kuria was sacked by President Ruto alongside several other Cabinet Secretaries on July 11.

Yesterday, Kiunjuri blamed the Mt Kenya region for the selection of Odinga’s allies into Ruto’s Cabinet.

Ruto picked ODM deputy party leaders Hassan Joho and Wycliffe Oparanya, chairman John Mbadi and National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi to join the Cabinet.

Kiunjuri claimed that Ruto is not to blame for this turn of events but rather the Mt Kenya region who courted him.

“It is not Ruto who looked for Raila. It is us Mt Kenya who have looked for Raila. You cannot be at a table with your plate and start asking for those held by others for your selfish gain,” he said…CONTINUE READING>>
