The former lawmaker told those planning to impeach him to weigh on their planned action saying that the move might cause security threats with the heavy political weight that the move carries.

Making reference to Gachagua’s calls for listening to what the people on the ground are saying, Ngunjiri asked those proposing the calls to immediately back off and instead focus on service delivery to the people.

‘’The impeachment of Gachagua would bring a lot of chaos on the ground, therefore it is not necessary at all,’’ Ngunjiri urged. ‘’I am not saying that Gachagua is 100 percent perfect and I have equally talked about this. Even the division of Mt Kenya into East and West, I don’t support the move,’’ he added.

‘’Don’t we have the intelligence to prove to us that the move would be very bad? Even if we are to take over from the current leadership, the results would still be a bad recipe for the country,’’ Ngunjiri observed. Ngunjiri, as a result, asked President William Ruto to move in and cool the political temperatures and assure the country’s political stability.

He further asked Ruto to learn from former President Uhuru Kenyatta, over how he handled the rift between him and his second in command. The Deputy President’s ally revealed that the move by the former President to remain mute on the simmering political differences with his then Deputy pushed the political leaders in his government to unfamiliar territories, noting that the current leaders should learn from that.

‘’The constitution is there with clear provisions, look at what Uhuru did, he did not tell us the problem of abandoning Ruto, he got us in a lot of mess and propaganda and we were left squabbling with each other,’’ he added.

Ngunjiri asked those planning the impeachment process against his ally to instead do a soul searching and listen to what the citizens are saying, urging them to consult extensively before embarking on such unpopular decisions.

‘’Do public participation in your places, in our backgrounds we have not done but we will do it because that is what the constitution stipulates that before embarking on any decision that affects the citizen, they must be consulted,’’ he added…CLICK HERE FOR MORE ARTICLE>>>
