On Tuesday, August 13, Raila disclosed that Uhuru initiated the talks that led to the formation of the broad-based Cabinet.
Speaking at the funeral of Mzee Chirchir Masit, the father of former IEBC commissioner Irene Masit, Raila said Uhuru asked him to engage with Ruto on the issues raised by Gen Zs to find a lasting solution.
However, Raila’s revelation attracted criticism from a section of Kenyans who suggested the ODM leader was not being truthful with facts.
Some questioned why the former prime minister has been changing goalposts regarding the deal between him and Ruto.

“You are good man. But here you are just sanitizing Uhuru. It is Uhuru and Gachagua who were sponsoring the chaos.”

“You want to share the blames and betrayals with Uhuru Kenyatta where he wasn’t.”
