“Honourable Speaker, I beg to lay the following paper on the table of the house today, August 7, 2024, the second report of the Committee of Appointments on the vetting of persons for appointment to the Offices of Secretaries volumes 1, 2, 3A and 3B,” Ichung’wah said.

Parliament will now determine whether Soi is suitable for appointment or upholds the committee’s recommendation.

The decision by the committee to reject Soi’s nomination has generated mixed reactions from Kenyans.

Robert Nge: But they couldn’t reject Oparanya, who has a case with EACC and the like! Vetting for the sale of Vetting, sad!”

Afraha Icon: “This is one of the sacrificed lambs to confuse us. Waanze na kureject Kindiki na Duale!”

Gov Drill: “They actually rejected the only one we didn’t mind. The incompetence at the August house is beyond repair #NaneNaneMarch.”

Stephen Mutoro: “Wetangula and members of the Committee on Appointments in rejecting Stella Lang’at as a nominee for Gender CS. Even English seems to be an issue. You really struggle to get a gist of her disjointed diction.”

John Mbati: “Stella Soi rejected as Gender CS nominee as Parliament approves 20 Cabinet Secretaries. In vetting, she said she did not have data on FGM, BGV, marriages and that research was not at her disposal – clueless.”

COMRADE: “This is after they discovered that Stella Soi doesn’t belong to KERICHO county…then gave orders from above…check the space they will nominate someone from Kericho county!”

Chris Akali: “Looking at Stella Soi Lang wealth, definitely she couldn’t pull enough bribe for the Wetang’ula-led time-wasting vetting panel.”
