Why did Kenyans camp on NPS’s account?
Kenyans swarmed the NPS X account after they posted an update titled “Acting IG Masengeli on the security assessment of Mandera, Wajir, and Garissa counties.”
The post further stated that Masengeli was at Mandera Police Station meeting with NPS officers after first stopping in Wajir.
” IG, who is accompanied by DCI Mr. Mohamed I. Amin and Commandant GSU, Mr. Ranson Lolmodooni, SAIG, is conducting a security assessment of the operational areas including Wajir, Mandera, and Garissa Counties this week following the recent probing attacks in the security camps,” the statement read in part.
Kenyans appeared frustrated by this because the acting IG was conducting security assessments despite ignoring six court summons.
On Monday, September 9, Masengeli was required to appear in court to explain the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of three people in Kitengela.
