Loise Githiga arrived in Canada in December 2011 with nothing but a dream, a prayer, and an unwavering belief in her potential. “People said, ‘Oh, Canada is cold. You will go sweep roads and clean cucus’ bums,'” she remembered. Despite the naysayers, Githiga remained resolute by listening, nodding, and smiling inside.

Today, she is grateful for her courage to dream and the relentless pursuit of her goals. She emphasizes that the discouragement she faced often stemmed from others’ limited capacities and projections of their failures.

Githiga notes that she is still on her journey and is grateful that she dared to dream. “Majority of them are just advising from their limited capacities. Others are just projecting their failures and obstacles to you,” she advised.

Today, Githiga walks through doors she never dreamt of entering and helps other Kenyans navigate the path to Canada.

Her success story now paves the way for many others to follow in her footsteps, proving that dreams can come true.

“If I did it, so can you!” she declares confidently and joyfully. She humorously adds that those who want to move to Canada and clean bums are welcome as they “rain dollars.”
