In a recent TikTok video, Cherizier accuses Kenyan officers and the Haitian National Police of ruthlessly attacking his base with gunfire and tear gas. The situation in Haiti has deteriorated significantly since the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse in July 2021.

Gangs have seized control of large portions of the country, perpetrating acts of violence against civilians and causing widespread fear. The Kenyan-led force, backed by the United Nations, was deployed in response to a plea from Haiti’s prime minister for assistance in restoring order.

Some officers have reported conducting raids and engaging with gang members, contradicting accusations that they have remained confined to their base in Port-au-Prince.

The international community has shown support for the mission, with several countries pledging to send officers to Haiti. These include Jamaica, Benin, the Bahamas, Belize, Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda, Bangladesh, Algeria, Canada, France, Germany, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and Spain.
