In its five-day weather forecast, the weather department announced that moderate to heavy rains were expected in the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley.

Other regions that were also projected to experience rains include the Lake Victoria Basin where rains were heavy rains were expected alongside the Rift Valley and the Coast.

Kenya Met in its advisory stated that moderate rains would be experienced in the counties of Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka and Nairobi.

According to the meteorological department, the above regions would experience light rains from Saturday to Sunday and cloudy conditions for the subsequent days.

Meanwhile, the counties of Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu and Elgeyo-Marakwet were projected to experience heavy rains for the next five days.

Other counties that were projected to experience a similar weather pattern include Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia and West Pokot.

Additionally, the coastal counties of Mombasa, Tana River, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale would experience moderate rainfall for the next five days.

During the announcement, Kenya Met disclosed that the rest of the country would remain dry with occasional sunny conditions for the five days.

Further, Kenyans living in the counties of Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka and Nairobi were cautioned to prepare for very cold nights of up to 5°C.

According to Kenya Met, the said counties would  experience night temperatures of about 7°C  for the first two days of the forecast after which the temperatures would drop to 5°C.

In equal measure, daytime temperatures in the North Eastern and North Western counties of Turkana, Samburu, Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo were expected to hit 37°C…CLICK HERE FOR MORE ARTICLE>>>
