Kanchory who parted ways with Raila after the last elections now believe Kalonzo fits the bill for the country’s top job saying he has all the desirable qualities Kenyans need in a President.....CLICK HERE TO READ THE FULL ARTICLE>>>

“We have the power to shape Kalonzo into the president we want. Kenya doesn’t need another strongman or one-man show, what we need is a leader who, like the late President Mwai Kibaki, governs with humility and allows democratic processes to thrive,” Kanchory said.

“A leader who, if they step out of line, we can peacefully hold accountable. One thing I am certain of: Kalonzo will not oppress or harm us.”

Kanchory further opined that Kalonzo has remained steadfast despite several efforts to persuade him politically.

He also pointed out his loyalty saying he has proven himself through the support he gave Raila in the last three elections.

“Musyoka was offered two cabinet slots and even asked to name his price, but when it truly mattered, he chose to stand with the people of Kenya, especially the youth,” said Ole Kanchory.

“He stood by Raila Odinga not once, but three times, never wavering or selling out.”

The endorsement by Kanchory comes at a time when the Wiper Party leader is strategising on having his name on the ballot as a presidential candidate.

Kalonzo was recently named Azimio leader by a section of the coalition party members signalling his readiness to take on President William Ruto in 2027.

This came after Raila announced that he had taken a break from local politics to focus on his African Union Chairperson bid.

With the exit of Raila, the Wiper leader has been working on consolidating the former prime minister’s political bases as he aims to beat President Ruto in the 2027 polls.

But with Raila teaming up with President Ruto to form a broad-based cabinet, analysts argue that the Wiper leader has a mountain to climb in consolidating the former prime minister’s support bases behind his back.

When he vied for the presidency in the hotly contested 2007 elections, Kalonzo became a distant third after Kibaki was announced the winner and Raila protested the verdict with allegations of rigging.

After protracted negotiations, Kibaki and Raila agreed to form a grand coalition government.

Before the agreement was sealed, Kalonzo had been named Vice President to boost Kibaki’s low numbers at the National Assembly.

In 2022, he lost favour after the deputy position was handed to Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua with the Azimio coalition announcing that he would be named Prime Minister if Raila won.

Raila did not win.
