A journalist has lost his cool and dared a police officer after they crossed each other’s paths while on duty. The journalist accused the officer of trying to intimidate him, leading to a tense standoff. Why did journalist want to fight a police The officer, who is reported to be among the heavy contingent outside Wanjigi’s house, allegedly threatened to beat the journalist.

“How are you speaking to me? I will slap you…look at this guy,” said the officer as he walked towards the journo. Agitated, the scribe took matters into his hands as the situation almost degenerated into fisticuffs. The journalist was immediately restrained by other officers at the scene as they tried talking him out of his fury.

He claimed the officer, wearing a r balaclava and hiding his face with a surgical mask, was trying to intimidate him since he was only holding a phone.

“Why don’t you hit me then? What’s holding you back? How will you slap me? As who? Wait, he’s ready to hit me. Let go of me, he wants to hit me. I will also fight you. I’ll turn this thing off, and we’ll deal with this right now.

What are you telling me? Who is this guy telling me to hit me as who? Or have you seen me holding my phone and thought I’m powerless? This is so uncalled for,” he said.

CNN international correspondent Larry Madowo narrowly escaped injury while reporting on protests in Nairobi after police allegedly targeted him.

Madowo, who was covering the police’s heavy-handed response, was struck by a fragment and questioned the officers about their actions.
