The ceremony was held on Monday at the Ludzidzini royal village in Lobamba and over 5000 people gathered to witness the union.

The 21-year-old daughter of South Africa’s former president was seen performing the reed dance, a traditional rite of womanhood in which young women bare their chests and dance for the monarch.

Some women who dance for the 56-year-old king are called liphovela— the royal fiancee or concubine. They adorn themselves with anklets and thick, colourful tassels while carrying mock swords and shields.

Nomcebo Zuma was born into a polygamous family, as her father, Jacob Zuma, had numerous wives and more than 20 children.
