Ugezu made this statement on his Instagram page. In his words, he said that when they were younger, they were told that children born out of wedlock were not allowed to do certain things that their peers could do. However, he noted that societal norms have changed significantly.
While children born out of wedlock were once despised, neglected, and deprived of certain opportunities in their communities, such as being baptized, becoming a Reverend father, or running for electoral positions, these restrictions no longer apply.
Ugezu advised women, “If no man wants to marry you and you are getting old, get pregnant and have a child.” He explained that the world has already accepted these children, even though some people might not understand it. He pointed out that in some communities, children born out of wedlock are even more active and integrated.
