According to Doreen, in her first marriage, she got pregnant while in college and dropped out of school. She got married, but after she delivered, her husband went mad, and she had to leave.
After some years, she met another man, got married, and they moved to Mombasa. She got pregnant again, but before she gave birth, her husband died in an accident. His younger brother inherited her, and she became his wife.
Doreen says that when she gave birth, her in-laws started to mistreat her, and she ran away, starting to live alone with her kids. She moved to Kiambu County.
During her stay in Kiambu, she met another man. On her first visit to his place, the man slept with her for six hours without her knowing he was HIV positive and had AIDS.
She says that after she left, the man asked her to go for a check-up to know her status. She thanked God she was negative and received treatment.
