Looking at teams which have defeated Dortmund in the knockout stages of European competitions, those teams have been able to reach the Final stage of the competitions, but unfortunately they are not able to lay their hands on the trophies.
For example, last season when they were knocked out by Rangers in the UEFA Europa League, the Scottish giants are able to reach the Final of the tournament but unfortunately lose to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Final, and the same was witnessed in the previous seasons with Paris Saint Germain, Manchester City, etc.
However, as Chelsea defeated the German Bundesliga giants yesterday to progress through to the next phase of the competition, there is probability that history may repeat itself and the London Blues may not win the competition even if they are able to reach the Final.
