In a video that has been circulating on social media, Governor Natembeya mentioned that it is okay to cry when one is stressed and encouraged men to cry to relieve the heavy burden during tough times.

“Boychild, you know in our cultures, men are not expected to show weakness by crying or complaining. You’re expected to keep a tough face most of the time. That’s why you find men going through many challenges but not talking about them. I would like to advise men to be open in expressing their emotions. It’s not wrong to show your feelings,” Natembeya advised.

“Sometimes, just cry if things are bad. There’s nothing wrong with that because when you release your emotions, you heal. That’s why you see women living longer because when they face challenges, they gather, sit down, and talk about it, but a man locks himself in a corner alone. You sulk and then turn to alcohol, you’ll end up dead,” he added.
