President William Ruto withdrew the contentious Finance Bill, 2024 weeks ago but its opponents comprising largely of the young generation are still rallying to pour on the streets on Tuesday to denounce its contents.

As this day comes closer, Gen Z have assured Kenyans they will bring change in our country. They shared this via Gen Z media on X platform. Below is the screenshot of their post

The Gen Z who are largely credited for piling pressure for the Bill to be dropped have declined an invitation to be part of the National Multi-Sectoral Forum (NMSF), which is meant to address the concerns they have raised.

In their post above, Gen Z Media wrote that “Ladies and Gentlemen, the ‘NaneNane’ march is just 7 days away, get ready for change. By assuring Kenyans that they will bring change in this country, it shows that Gen Z have planned this protest well, they are united and ready to demonstrate peacefully on that day.

We urge them to do it peacefully to avoid mayhem and chaos, police should also provide security to them as the law mandates them to do so.

The President said whatever suggestions the young generation has that are aimed at improving or changing the already existing development agenda are welcome “and I will be responsible to guide as a father”.

There were romours that after President Ruto resigns, Kenya Defence Forces will take over the leadership but that is not true. In their post above, Gen Z media have revealed the person who will take over and that is, the Speaker of the National Assembly or Chief Justice.

Article 146 of the constitution says that the Speaker will rule for 60 days and the country should hold an new election within this period of time.
