According to a live video clips that have gone viral on social media platforms, what was expected to be a significant show of support for his administration, President Ruto took to the podium with his characteristic vigor, ready to address the eager crowd at Uhuru Park.

However, within minutes, his speech was drowned out by a thunderous chorus of boos and jeers, led by a group of frustrated youths who have seemingly had enough of his so-called “empty promises.”

The chants were unmistakable, resonating across the packed grounds with a palpable force, “Tumechoka na uongo wako, Kwenda hatukutaki!” (We’re tired of your lies, Go away, we don’t want you!). The message was clear, an emphatic rejection of what the protestors described as years of unfulfilled pledges, inflated rhetoric, and insincere governance.

The video indicates that as Ruto attempted to continue his speech, more hecklers joined in, waving placards and chanting in unison. The president’s security team, visibly rattled, tightened their formation, attempting to calm the growing unrest, but to no avail.

The air was thick with tension as police struggled to regain control, pushing back the increasingly agitated crowd.
