Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV, Gachagua claimed that some of the Members of Parliament affiliated with President William Ruto’s party have held secret meetings intent on affirming a motion of impeachment against him.

However, Gachagua affirmed that he was safe in his position as long as Kenyans didn’t express any opposition against his leadership.

“You know there are many schemes that are going on everyday, you have seen meetings trying to divide the people of Mt Kenya region, you have seen meetings of undermining the deputy president, you have seen people being called and offered money to impeach the deputy president, and all that nonsense that was going on,” he revealed.

“I am elected by the people and I ask the people directly whether they have a problem with my leadership and they said they don’t have.”

According to Gachagua, close to 35 lawmakers had converged in Nyahururu to discuss how they could throw him out of his current position, and most of them were arm-twisted in the meeting that lasted the whole night to the point that seven of them abandoned it.

Nonetheless, the deputy president disclosed that he informed the Head of State about attempts to eject him from office. However, Gachagua alleged that the president told him that he was not aware of such a scheme.

“There is no motion of impeachment against the deputy president that can find itself on the floor of the house unless the President gives a nod. Nobody else can push it through apart from the President,” the DP affirmed…CLICK HERE FOR MORE ARTICLE>>>
