He explained that his schedule was very busy at the time, which made it impossible for him to attend.

Gachagua offered this apology during an interdenominational church service held in Matharu on Sunday, May 26, 2024.

During his speech, Gachagua shared a message from President William Ruto. The President had asked him to visit Matharu before he left for a trip to America.

Gachagua delivered greetings from President Ruto and a contribution for the local community.

He assured the residents that President Ruto loves them and plans to visit the area after his return from the United States.

To make up for missing the previous event, Gachagua announced that he would pay a fine, a common practice in many African traditions.

He donated Ksh10 million to Matharu High School for the construction of a new office block and other projects.

Additionally, Gachagua informed the community that the government had released Ksh600 million to pay milk farmers who had been experiencing delays in receiving payments for their supplies.

Gachagua used the opportunity to address political issues as well. He accused some allies of President Ruto of interfering with the politics of the Mt Kenya region.

He claimed these leaders from the Rift Valley were giving the President bad advice ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Gachagua expressed his concern about these political maneuvers, suggesting that these leaders were already planning for the next election while President Ruto is still in office.
