1. Constipation and Haemorrhoids.

Roasted corn contains about 18.4% of dietary fibres and this helps prevent constipation( A condition in which a person cannot pass out faeces with ease).

Dietary fibres help prevent constipation by absorbing a large amount of water from the gastrointestinal tract especially the large intestine and this absorbed water helps soften the stool. When the stool is softened it prevents the formation of haemorrhoids or piles( a condition in which the veins in the lower rectum get swollen or dilated due to straining).

2. Heart Attack.

Roasted corn contains Omega 3 fatty acid which helps to reduce the amount of cholesterol in the body. Excess cholesterol in the body is known as hypercholesterolemia and this leads to a condition called atherosclerosis (when fatty droplets accumulation in the wall of the blood vessels and this leads to blockage or narrowing of the body vessels). And atherosclerosis leads to heart attack, aneurysm, stroke and blood clot.

3. Anaemia.

Roasted corn contains 15% of iron and some amount of folate. Folate and iron are the necessary compounds that are required for the production of more red blood cells and thus increase the haemoglobin count. Low haemoglobin in the blood leads to anaemia.

4. Spina Bifida.

Roasted corn contains folate which is necessary for pregnant women especially in the first trimester of the pregnancy. Folate helps in the healthy growth and development of the brain and spinal cord of the foetus.
