DAILY POST reports that the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup started on Saturday in Colombia.

Nigeria are in Group D alongside Germany, South Korea and Venezuela.

Chris Danjuma’s side won 1-0 against South Korea in their opening encounter on Monday.

Flourish Sabastine netted a late second half goal to give Nigeria all three points against the Asian country.

Sabastine scored the decisive goal four minutes from time following an assist from substitute Chukwuamaka Goodness Osigwe.

Nigeria sit in second position in Group D with three points and plus one goal difference.

They are behind leaders Germany, who currently top the group with three points and plus three goals difference after beating Venezuela 5-2 in their first game on Sunday.

The West Africans currently sit in second position with three points behind leaders Germany, while South Korea and Venezuela are in third and fourth positions with no point.

Nigeria’s match with Germany will take place at the Estadio Metropolitano de Techo, Bogota.

Speaking with DAILY POST, assistant coach of Yaba FC, Ahmed Omale, advised the Falconets on how to beat Germany and top Group D.

Omale also congratulated Nigeria for beating South Korea in their opening match.

“First and foremost, I want to congratulate the girls for the beautiful game they played against the South Koreans,” Omale told DAILY POST.

“What Nigerians were expecting from the game [Nigeria vs South Korea] was a victory from the Falconets. They did very well and committed themselves into the game and I’m impressed with their performance.

“I want to encourage them that they should keep it up and the only way they can top the group is to commit themselves into the remaining two matches.”

Omale added, “With the performance I saw on Monday against South Koreans, I believe they would do better in their next game against Germany.
