Vinicius Jr, Neymar, Richarlison and Lucas Paqueta were all on target as the Samba stars ran riot and sent out a statement to the rest of the competition.

The football on display was of the highest quality and South Korea’s approach of trying to go toe-to-toe with Tite’s side backfired completely.

But still, some fans were furious with the first-half penalty awarded for a soft foul on Richarlison, who made a meal of the challenge from Jung Woo-young.

Neymar, with his usual run-up, coolly converted the penalty upon his return to the starting XI after missing the last two games through injury.

Yet there was an angry reaction from rival supporters on social media.

One fan wrote: “World Cup is rigged for Brazil because they got washed so many times in big games because how the hell is that a penalty??”

A second added: “That is never a penalty looool this s*** rigged af Brazil been getting some dodgy decisions all tournament…”

A third commented: “You made a huge mistake there @FIFAWorldCup an absolute joke of a penalty awarded to Brazil. Clearly rigged.”

A fourth opined: “Why Brazil getting special treatment and winning?? This World Cup is rigged!”

A fifth weighed in: “This is so rigged wtf brazil did NOT deserve that penalty.”

While the penalty was controversial, Richarlison’s third goal of the tournament was anything but that.

The Spurs striker went full Joga Bonito by dribbling with his head and then finished off a glorious move involving Brazil centre-backs Marquinhos and Thiago Silva.

The latter supplied a gorgeous pass in behind for Richarlison to finish emphatically. Paqueta added the fourth before Paik Seung-ho grabbed a consolation in the second half.

Brazil take on Croatia in the quarter-final on Friday at the Education City Stadium as they look to take another step towards a sixth World Cup.
