The 26 year old football maestro was handed a starting role in the squad having been a key figure in the team since his summer arrival and he was able to deliver at the peak.
Timo Werner was exceptional for the host at the heart of the forward line where he created a couple of chances which made him a complete threat in the opposition box and as such made his minutes spent on the pitch of play an impactful one.
The host in the 27th minute got the lead with a goal from Christopher Nkunku who made it one nil as the only goal that separated the two sides going into the half time break.
The host in the second half were at the commanding end as they put up some more dazzling displays and were as such the dominating side despite conceding an equalizer just two minutes into the game courtesy of a goal from Jota, after which the host got in charge with another lead in the 64th minute with a goal from Andre Silva to make it two goals to one.
In the 77th minute of the game, Andre Silva was able to complete his brace of the night as he got the lead extended for the host which as such ended the game three goals to one at full time.
