EPL: You’re Making Right Pig’s Ear Of It – Peter Crouch Slams Chelsea New Signing

Former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur striker, Peter Crouch, has hit out at Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly for his lacklustre performances after taking the club’s legend John Terry’s iconic No. 26 shirt.

Terry had spoken about retiring shirt numbers on That Peter Crouch Podcast.

Koulibaly joined Chelsea for £34 million from Napoli this summer.

The 31-year-old asked Terry for the No. 26 shirt that the former England centre-back wore for a long time before leaving Stamford Bridge back in 2017.

However, no other Chelsea star took the shirt, but Terry gave Koulibaly permission to wear it.

When asked for his opinion on the matter, Crouch said via the Daily Star: “For John Terry at Chelsea, that probably warrants it.

“Obviously, that Koulibaly has come in and gone ‘can I take the 26?’ You know, because JT Terry is obviously retired. He’s come in, he’s took it, and he’s making a right pig’s ear of it, is he not?”

Koulibaly got off to a great start at Chelsea, scoring on his debut for the west London club in a 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur on August 14.

But the Senegalese international quickly suffered a dip in form and began to seem unreliable at the back.
