Amakhosi have made four new signings so far, with Sirino the latest player added to Nabi’s squad following the arrivals of Bongani Sam, Fiacre Ntwari and Rushwin Dortley.

Sirino was signed after the 4-0 defeat to Young Africans SC, and more players are expected to arrive at Naturena, with Chiefs looking to offload some of their foreign stars to free up those spots, as reported in this week’s iDiski Times digi-paper.

Meanwhile, Khumalo believes that signing Sirino, who doesn’t take up a foreign quota spot after receiving his South African citizenship, was a step in the right direction for the club.

“Having watched him play at [Mamelodi] Sundowns, he did well,” he said on Soccerzone.

“But I think he comes to Chiefs in his category right, he really wants to play. He was not given a fair deal at Sundowns and I’m not talking bad about them, but I’d like to believe that.

“But now he also comes to a new setup, because of new coaches, who are highly qualified and I’d like to believe that Nabi and his team will benefit out of Sirino’s experience because this is exactly what Kaizer Chiefs need at the moment.”
