Science has uncovered several unpleasant health consequences of chronic light exposure that you should be aware of. According to healthline, there are four main reasons why you shouldn’t sleep with the lights on:

Keeping the lights on while you sleep has been linked to an increased risk of developing depression. A person’s depression may deepen if they leave their blue lights on.

If you don’t get enough sleep at night, you may find it difficult to complete even the simplest of chores, because your brain won’t be in the correct state of mind.
