Science has uncovered several unpleasant health consequences of chronic light exposure that you should be aware of. According to healthline, there are four main reasons why you shouldn’t sleep with the lights on:

One, It may cause emotional distress.

Keeping the lights on while you sleep has been linked to an increased risk of developing depression. A person’s depression may deepen if they leave their blue lights on.

This is due to research showing that exposure to blue light before bed can disrupt sleep, hence increasing the risk of feeling down the next day.

Two, being overweight

Many studies have linked a lack of sleep to an increase in food consumption, and studies have shown that sleeping with the lights on might disrupt your sleep over time.

Obesity is a normal consequence of excessive food consumption.

Third, the risk of mishaps increases

If you don’t get enough sleep at night, you may find it difficult to complete even the simplest of chores, because your brain won’t be in the correct state of mind.

In other cases, the unfortunate events could occur in the comfort of one’s own home.

Three, a higher risk of hypertension

High blood pressure is another health issue brought on by light-emitting-diode (LED) sleep. Several factors, such as insufficient sleep and blue light’s physiological effects, have been linked to this phenomenon in scientific research.
