The President said that he would not allow a section of Kenyans to take the country in the wrong direction.

“Ati kuna watu wengine wanafikiria kwamba watatufanyia maandamano ati Kenya isimame, nataka niwaambie, hatuwezi kuruhusu taifa letu lifanyiwe karata ya pata potea, watu wafanye maandamano, walete maafa, uaribifu wa mali, wachome manyumba ya serikali kwa sababu ya mambo ya kibinafsi,” he said.

Lobby Group Wants Police To Facilitate Peaceful Procession To State House On Tuesday

Lobby group Operation Linda Jamii has filed a petition in court to have police facilitate protesters in their expected peaceful procession to the State House, Nairobi and all State Lodges.

Court documents show that the petitioner has notified the Inspector General of Police (2nd respondent) of the expected nationwide march scheduled for, Tuesday, July 30 which will see protesters present their petitions to the said premises.

Linda Jamii says that the processions will be made up of their members and Kenyans of good-will as they head to deliver the petitions to the house on the hill in Nairobi, and state lodges in Mombasa, Kisumu, Sagana, Nyeri, Eldoret, Nakuru, Kakamega and Kitale.

Njuri Ncheke to determine Governor Mwangaza impeachment bid

The high court in Meru has directed that the impeachment motion against Governor Kawira Mwangaza be referred to the Njuri Ncheke Council of Elders.

Justice Linus Kassan ordered that the court, which was supposed to give a ruling on Monday on the fourth impeachment proceeding against Mwangaza, will do so on August 20, 2024.

“The Njuri Ncheke Supreme Council of Ameru Elders are hereby ordered to submit their resolution or lack of it on the dispute between the parties herein as directed by the President of the Republic of Kenya not later than three weeks from today,” Justice Kassan ordered.

Ex-Isiolo South MP charged with possessing fake dollars

Former Isiolo South Constituency Member of Parliament Abdi Tepo was on Monday charged with five counts ranging from possessing fake USD currencies to having an unregistered firearm.

According to the charge sheet, Abdi Koropu Tepo was on July 25, 2024, found at Donholm Estate with 34,200 forged USD currency notes for 100 denominations.
