Confirming the incident, Kayunga District Police Commander (DPC) Rosette Sikahwa said they had launched a search for the lady.
A report by Monitor indicated that the self-confessed born-again Christian had been staying with her mother for over 10 years.
Kayunga Central nyumba kumi Wamuti Kawuzi said the preacher left the house on Saturday, June 8, raising suspicion.
“She closed her house and left. But her mother was that day not seen outside on the verandah as she usually did,” Wamuti said.
She reportedly returned momentarily on Monday, June 10 and opened her house but left moments later.
“One of her neighbours said she was shocked when an odour emerged from the closed room,” Wamuti stated.

The neighbours claimed they saw flies at the house’s door as a foul smell emanated from the area, forcing them to enter.
Wamuti rushed to the scene, and on opening the room, they found the decomposing body of the elderly woman on the floor.
He explained that the preacher might have pierced her mum with a sharp object in the chest, taking her life.
“We also saw many flies on the door, which raised our suspicion that something could have died in that room. There were signs that she could have burnt her mother and also pierced her with a sharp object in the chest, leading to her death,” Wamuti revealed.
