Mugisha appeared before Chief Magistrate Ronald Kayiizi at Buganda Road Court on Tuesday, facing six charges of neglecting his legal obligation to pay social security dues as mandated by the NSSF Act cap 222.

Mugisha, who denied all allegations brought forth by the state, was denied bail by Kayiizi, who stated that the decision to grant bail must come from the trial magistrate who is currently unavailable due to illness.

The Chief Magistrate indicated that Mugisha will remain in custody until September 5, pending further court proceedings.

State attorney Ivan Kyazze opposed the bail application, highlighting Mugisha’s history of evading criminal summons and indicating that a warrant for his arrest had been issued on July 19, 2024, after he failed to appear in court.
