The lawyer representing Collins Jomaisi Khalisia, the man accused of killing 42 women since 2022, has fiercely criticised the ongoing legal proceedings, calling them a ‘sham’ and demanding transparency for the Kenyan public.....CLICK HERE TO READ THE FULL ARTICLE>>>

Speaking outside Kiambu Law Courts on Tuesday, July 16, after the court ordered the case to be moved to the Makadara Law Courts, John Maina Ndegwa, the lawyer for Khalisia, vehemently opposed the Director of Public Prosecution’s request for more time to complete the investigation.

“It is time Kenyans are told the truth,” he declared.

Maina revealed that the government has filed a miscellaneous application seeking to detain the suspect for an additional 14 days to conclude their investigations.

He argued that the evidence presented by the police on Monday, July 15, is more than sufficient to proceed to trial. “We wouldn’t want them to seek more days for evidence collection. What was paraded yesterday is enough to proceed with the trial. I will be much baffled if the ODPP seeks more days for investigations,” he asserted.

Maina launched a scathing attack on the government, questioning the need for more time when significant evidence had already been displayed by the acting Inspector General, Douglas Kanja, and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) chief, Mohamed Amin.

“What they are seeking under the miscellaneous application is more days. Yet you saw yesterday the acting Inspector General and the counterpart from DCI parading some purported incriminating evidence. Why should they do that yesterday, yet today they are coming with a miscellaneous application seeking more days?” he asked.

Despite police claims of cracking one of the country’s most shocking murder cases, residents of Kware have expressed scepticism, alleging the announcement is a cover-up.

Maina did not want to comment on the claims that his client, Khalisia confessed to killing 42 women, including his wife, revealing he is yet to see the confession. He stated, “The manner and the circumstance in which he gave the confession we cannot comment on right now.” Adding, “We are yet to see it.”

In a dramatic nocturnal sting operation, police apprehended Khalisia, believed to be the mastermind behind the macabre killings and body dumps at Kware dumpsite in Embakasi, Nairobi.

By 8am yesterday, Khalisia had reportedly confessed to the murders, admitting to killing 42 women between 2022 and July 11, 2024.

DCI Director Amin detailed how the suspect was tracked using a mobile signal from a victim’s phone. “It is the transaction of mobile money transfer using Josephine Mulongo Owino’s phone number that led detectives to the suspect,” Amin explained.

Khalisia’s first victim was allegedly his wife, Imelda, whom he killed in 2022 after a business venture failed. “He told us that he killed his wife out of bitterness. That he chopped her and dumped her at Kware but all these statements are subject to investigations. He is a person full of vengeance and hatred,” Amin stated, adding that the suspect had a “predilection for beautiful women”.

However, the lack of photographic evidence of the victims has raised doubts among locals. Moments before his arrest, Khalisia was reportedly luring his next victim, a woman named Susan, who has since been invited to record a statement.

Officers reported that Khalisia lived about 100 metres from Kware dumpsite, where nine bodies were retrieved by Monday evening. Various incriminating items, including SIM cards, phones, a machete, and other paraphernalia, were found in his house and displayed to the media at the DCI headquarters.

The community remains perplexed as to how Khalisia managed to live amongst them in the densely populated area of Mukuru kwa Njenga, luring women, engaging in relationships, and ultimately killing, dismembering, and disposing of their bodies without detection…CONTINUE READING>>
