The next hurdle is how those players would fit into Chelsea’s lineup under Graham Potter. As of the time of writing, the Blues currently have ten attackers in their rank.
However, in Chelsea’s strongest lineup when injured players return, there will only be space in the lineup for four attackers.
Kepa Arrizabalaga has established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper and he is expected to continue featuring prominently for the Blues. In the backline, Ben Chilwell would feature in the left-back position.
The centre-back pairings would be winter signing, Benoit Badiashile, and Chelsea’s captain, Thiago Silva. In the right-back role, there would be Reece James.
In midfield, Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante are still expected to secure their places in the team despite their injury problems this season.
Winter signing, Mykhailo Mydryk, would be expected to feature on the left-wing position while Hakim Ziyech would play on the right. Loan signing, João Felix would lead the line while Kai Havertz would play in his preferred number ten position.
