One club that has been linked to a lot of players in the transfer market so far and haven’t yet made a signing is Chelsea football club.

The London club who are now under new regime are looking to build a team that can challenge Liverpool and Manchester City for the English Premier League title next season.

Also, looking to make a marquee signing that would send a statement across English football that Chelsea are still looking to compete at the very top after the departure of Roman Abramovich, the club’s former owner, the Blues have been linked to the likes of Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo.

According to several reports, Neymar has emerged as a possible target for Chelsea.

Chelsea are said to be interested in the Brazilian super star because they have the financial capability to sign him after getting Romelu Lukaku off their wage bill.

As regards Cristiano Ronaldo, David Ornstein, a top Football Correspondent for The Athletic UK reported in an exclusive transfer news that the new owner of Chelsea had held a meeting with the agent of the Manchester United forward.

In the defensive department, the Blues have been heavily linked to Jules Kounde and Juventus’ Mattias De Light has also emerged as a possible target for Thomas Tuchel’s team.

The departure of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen has left a huge gap in the defensive backline, a gap that needs to be filled with quality central defenders.

So far, Chelsea haven’t completed the signings of any player. But this week is definitely going to be a massive week for the club. We expect that the new board start working to get players in rather than just be linked to those players.

Although, it is highly unlikely, according to the rumours and transfer updates we’ve seen in this window, there is a small chance that Chelsea could line up with a starting XI that includes Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo next season.

Full Starting XI

Lining up in the regular 3-4-3 formation, we could see a back three of Thiago Silva, Jules Kounde and Mattias De Light.

Across the midfield, Ngolo Kante and Matteo Kovacic could be the two central midfielders flanked on both sides by Reece James and Ben Chillwell in the wing back positions.

In attack, Neymar Jr, Cristiano Ronaldo could be joined by and either one of these three targets: Raphinha, Sterling or Dembele. Or perhaps, old boys like Pulisic and Mason Mount could hold the right wing in what would be a phenomenal starting XI.
