Chelsea given Kounde ultimatum

Chelsea have been given a deadline by Sevilla on when a deal for Jules Kounde needs to be completed.

The Blues have been chasing Kounde all summer, but have failed to reach an agreement with Sevilla over a price for the defender.

Sevilla reportedly want £56m for Kounde, but the Blues want to pay less.

However, Chelsea have been given until next week to wrap the transfer up by Sevilla, according to The Mirror.

West Ham will pull off a “real coup” if they can persuade Chelsea to sell Armando Broja this summer.

That’s according to sports journalist Peter O’Rourke, who to Give Me Sport: “It’ll be interesting to see what Chelsea do decide to do with him this summer because, obviously, we all know of their striking issues as well.

Hakim Ziyech could end up at Everton with former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard this summer.

Ziyech reportedly handed the Blues his transfer request, and the club are open to letting him leave.

And football journalist Dean Jones reckons Everton could make a move for the winger.

He said to Give Me Sport: “The changes at Chelsea are likely to lead to Ziyech looking for a new club, and Everton are one side keeping an eye on the terms around any exit.

“Generally, Frank Lampard is being linked with all the homegrown players from Chelsea, but I’ve been told he’ll be interested in Ziyech too if the player is keen to stay in the Premier League.”

Furious Man United chiefs have told Cristiano Ronaldo he’s not going anywhere amid interest from Chelsea.

Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes allegedly met with the Blues over a potential move for the disgruntled attacker.

But the Mirror claim United have vetoed any possible exit for Ronaldo.

The publication claim a source told them: “Cristiano is not for sale. We want – and fully expect – him to be with us next season.”

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly held a meeting with the agent of Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo, Jorge Mendes, in Portugal last week.

The Blues owner has stepped in as an interim director of football to help the club with its transfers after transfer guru Marina Granovskaia and chairman Bruce Buck departed earlier this week.

The Manchester United star’s future is far from decided with the player being linked with a move away from Old Trafford.

And according to The Athletic, Ronaldo’s future at United as well as a potential move to Chelsea was discussed when Boehly met Mendes in Portugal last week.

The 37-year-old Portugal international has 12 months remaining on the two-year deal he signed when rejoining Man Utd last summer.

Elsewhere, it has been suggested that Chelsea are the club ‘best placed’ to land Ousmane Dembele when his contract expires at Barcelona.

Kepa Arrizabalaga has warned “I want to play” ahead of a potential Chelsea exit this summer.

The goalkeeper has found himself largely on the sidelines since Edouard Mendy’s Stamford Bridge arrival in 2020.

Kepa, 27, lost his place after a number of blunder-filled performances, but he believes that he is now deserving of another shot at being a No1.

Lukaku ‘to raise Serie A standards’

Romelu Lukaku has been tipped to raise the standards of the Serie A if he returns to Inter Milan.

That’s the view of Lazio striker Ciro Immobile, who said: “I don’t think about records. I will certainly realise the extent of what I have done in the world of football once I stop playing. It’s clear that we mustn’t rest or give up.

Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Southampton and Wales wonderkid Eddie Beach for an undisclosed fee.

The 18-year-old goalkeeper will join the Blues’ prestigious academy set-up.

Chelsea’s assistant head of youth development and head of youth recruitment, Jim Fraser, told the club’s website: “We are very pleased to bring Eddie to the club.

Isaiah Jones has been urged to stay with Middlesbrough amid interest from several Prem clubs.

But Carlton Palmer reckons Jones should stay put as he won’t get regular playing time at any of the aforementioned clubs.
