The custodian, who had previous experience playing for Villarreal and Real Madrid in La Liga, did not enter Saturday’s 4-2 loss to Manchester City as a substitute.
Coming off the bench, he made his Blues debut in a match against the United States. With Enzo Maresca’s numerous preseason cuts and adjustments, Jorgensen has every reason to be confident in starting on Tuesday following Robert Sanchez’s four-goal performance against the Premier League champions.
While Reece James and Levi Colwill will likely remain in the backline, Ben Chilwell and Benoit Badiashile might start in place of Malo Gusto and Tosin Adarabioyo, respectively.
Adarabioyo did not have a good game against Man City. Since Moises Caicedo also set up Erling Haaland’s second of three goals following his return from a Copa America holiday, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Enzo Fernandez may play together in the deeper midfield positions.
Dewsbury-Hall started Saturday’s match in the final third with Mykhaylo Mudryk and Christopher Nkunku.
Although the Frenchman could keep that role, Noni Madueke, Raheem Sterling, and Marc Guiu are all ready to contribute more legs.
