The Bungoma gentle giant revealed after he started trending, he was asked to go to Nairobi with the hopes of making it to Citizen TV.

Speaking in an interview with IkuweIkuwe, he said:

“Niliwacha bibi one week after afanyiwe operation. Niliambiwa naenda Nairobi interview ya Citizen (I left my wife one week after she had surgery. I was told I was going to Nairobi for an interview with Citizen TV).”

Upon arriving in Nairobi

with his manager, Otesa said he was taken to Kabiria at Manzi wa Kibera’s house, where he spent a night. They were then moved to another house, but he wasn’t comfortable.

“Tulikuwa tunalala watatu mimi, mwanaume mwengine na dem kwa kitanda moja. Tulikiuwa tunafinyana (We were sleeping three of us—another man, a woman and I—in one bed. We were all squeezed together),” he claimed.

Otesa narrated being taken around the city for interviews, with the promise of a final one with Citizen TV, but it never happened.

He also narrated being taken to a shop in tears, where Manzi wa Kibera bought him sneakers and promised him more pairs, but he never got them.

“Walisema imebaki pair tatu na sijawahi pata (They said there are three pairs left, and I have never gotten any),” he said.

Otesa said the following day, he was taken to town to get suit measurements but never received the outfits.

“Nilifanyiwa four interviews hiyo siku (I did four interviews on that day) and the interviewers promised to send me money but never did it,” he shared.

The father of three got tired of the alleged lies and left his manager, Evans, and the lady at the house where he was staying and went to live with his in-law.

“Niliona hapo maisha sio mzuri. I wasn’t comfortable. Niliwacha ID kwa gate for three days nikasema hii haiwezi (I saw that life there is not good. I wasn’t comfortable. I left my ID at the gate for three days and told myself this can’t continue),” he explained.

The father of three added that he was also forced to do things against his will.

“Kuna dem hapo aliniambia nabeba dem, namshika tunapiga picha ndio nipate likes mingi nitrend. Sikuwa nimefanya hizo vitu kama hizo. Ilikuwa first time ndio nikasonga kuepuka hizo vitu. Hazikuwa zinafurahisha fans.

Niliona nikiendelea kukaa hapa mahali hujui ukiambiwa anything itabidi ufanye sababu hujui chenye kinaweza tokea. Ilibidi tu nivumilie (There is a content creator who told me that I should carry a woman and hold her while we take pictures so that I could get a lot of likes and trend online.

I hadn’t done things like that before. It was the first time, and I tried to avoid such things. They weren’t pleasing to the fans. I realised that if I continued to stay here, you never know when you’re told to do anything, you have to do it because you don’t know what might happen. I just had to endure),” he shared.
