The video, shared by Narok county senator Ledama Olekina, features Uhuru discussing the widespread cancer cases in the country in 2019.

He noted that his administration was dedicated to mobilizing resources to establish cancer centres of excellence across the country, starting with Kisii county.

“I’m happy to say that Kisii will be the first beneficiary of this initiative. Indeed, the national government will invest approximately KSh 2 billion in this facility…. The money we borrowed must be paid,” Uhuru said.

Uhuru also insisted that Saudi Arabia had provided the funds to start the program as a loan. The video then transitions to recent footage of Ruto stating that the cancer centre project in Kisii had been delayed for a considerable time.

Speaking in Kisii county, the head of state mentioned that he had travelled to Saudi Arabia to secure funds for constructing the cancer centre.

“I traveled to Saudi Arabia, and we agreed with people there, how they can help us so that we can have a cancer center in Kisii,” Ruto said.
