In photos shared by the Presidential Communication Service, Ruto and Gachagua are seen peeling bananas as they chat with the resident, Yunuke Nyanchongi.

“Earlier, we switched on power at the home of 85-year-old Yunuke Nyanchongi of Riasuta Itibonge Village in South Mugirango, Kisii County,” Ruto said.

Ruto was gifted a chicken during the development tour.

The President and his Deputy had gone to launch the last mile rural electrification project at the Raisuta-Etibonge Etago area.

Ruto noted that rural electrification in all parts of the country is essential to powering our rural economies.

Gachagua noted that they will continue to improve access to electricity and increase income to all households.
