Trump and Musk’s interview on X, formerly Twitter, got off to a rocky start and began around 40 minutes late, with many social media users unable to listen to the online conversation.
Musk, who owns X, blamed the technical difficulties on a “massive DDOS [distributed denial of services] attack,” although it is not clear what caused the problems.
The issues were reminiscent of the glitchy attempt by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to launch his Republican presidential campaign on X in May 2023.
After Monday’s interview, the vice president’s campaign team, who have recently joined Truth Social, reshared a post written by Trump in May 2023 criticizing DeSantis’ launch.
